Changelog

Every release, and what changed in it

Newest first. V5 is the current series; V3 is kept here for booths still running it.

35 versions

v5.1.1.0 5

AI Offline

  • ai offline : the same "Before / After Video" option is now in AI Offline too, including Face Swap templates.

AI Online

  • ai online : new "Before / After Video" option - a short video that starts on the guest's photo, transitions, then shows the AI result, with your own hold times and transition effect.
  • ai online : bug fixed - a job could time out after 30 seconds even with a higher "Max Timeout" set in Settings.

Event

  • event : bug fixed - duplicating a template inside an event, then changing the copy's image, could overwrite the original template's image too.

Others

  • license : bug fixed - the app could fail to open or activate on PCs that cannot read their hardware ID.
v5.1.0.0 2026-07-22 6

Collage Studio

  • collage : bug fixed - same for Collage's "Plain Photo" layers - the Change Background image is now saved into the template.

Lenticular Studio

  • lenticular : bug fixed - a "Plain Photo" layer's Change Background image was lost when you saved the template.

Motion Studio

  • motion : Boomerang clips now support an animated video effect - add a transparent WebM on top, with a starter pack you can download from the editor.
  • motion : the overlay can now be an animated transparent WebM video, not just a still image.

Event

  • event : bug fixed - touch screen could stop working during an event.

Others

  • license : bug fixed - the app could fail to renew its license session at startup and ask for the license again.
v5.0.1.4 2026-07-20 8

Motion Studio

  • motion : bug fixed - videos, especially Boomerang clips, could come out grainy and pixelated.
  • motion : video rendering is faster, and the preview in the Boomerang editor loads much quicker.
  • motion : new "Resolution" setting (Auto / 1080p / 720p / 540p) - a lower one renders faster and makes a smaller file.
  • motion : new 120 fps output option for extra-smooth slow motion (needs the VLC player to play back smoothly).

Others

  • settings : new "Advanced" menu holds Live View Render Engine, Video Player Engine, Error Handling and Compute Device; Backup & Restore moved to the bottom of the "Other" page.
  • settings : new Video Player Engine choice - switch it to "VLC" so high frame-rate videos (over 60fps) play at normal speed.
  • new : new "Video Quality" setting in App Settings, controlling the quality of every video the app makes.
  • gopro : you can now record at 2.7K, not just 1080p.
v5.0.1.3 2026-07-17 5

Event

  • event : bug fixed - photos delivered by Manual pickup with "auto upload" on were never uploaded, so the online link and any printed QR pointed to nothing.
  • event : the QR code element on the result screen now works on its own - placing it is enough, and every photo uploads by itself while it is switched on.
  • event : the note next to the QR code element in the result designer is now plainer and uses the full width of the panel.

Others

  • gpu : you can now switch the live camera preview to CPU mode in Settings > Others > "Live View Render Engine" when it shows black.
  • gpu : computers with no graphics card now show the live preview automatically, instead of a "graphics driver required" message.
v5.0.1.2 2026-07-16 8

Collage Studio

  • collage : when you use the option to place extra copies of the result on one sheet, an overlay (frame/logo) from your template or the global setting now goes on every copy - the same overlay, sized to fit each copy - so each one you cut out looks finished. Before, a single overlay was stretched across the whole sheet.

Lenticular Studio

  • lenticular : bug fixed - Lenticular Studio failed to process when one layer used another layer's input image as its source. It now processes correctly, in the studio and in an event.

Motion Studio

  • motion : the Glam and Boomerang clips are now a single clip called Boomerang. Record a video, then build a sequence of moves - each plays forward or reverse at a speed you choose - so you get the glam speed-ramp look and the back-and-forth boomerang together in one clip, with a live preview while you edit and a set of ready-made presets to start from. Works in the studio and in a live event.

Event

  • event : new Result Delivery choices. In an event's Result Delivery settings you can now turn on any mix of three ways for guests to get their photo: Direct (shown right on the booth screen), Email a link, or Manual pickup (the photo is created in the background and waits in the event's gallery for your staff to hand over). Manual pickup needs no email set-up.
  • event : let the guest choose. When you turn on more than one delivery way, the guest is simply asked at the booth how they'd like their photo (wait here / email it to me / get it later). Each template can either follow the event setting or set its own with "Custom".

Others

  • new : you can now back up and restore your settings. Go to Settings > Backup & Restore and export everything (cameras, printers, QR, sharing accounts, filters and more) to a single file - keep it as a backup before reinstalling, or move it to another computer and import it there. Importing replaces your current settings and restarts the app; your old settings are saved to a "backup" folder first so you can always import them back.
  • bug fixed : the app could fail to start if its settings file got corrupted. It now keeps a spare copy of each settings file and repairs itself automatically - and if a file is beyond repair it resets that part to defaults and tells you - so it always launches.
  • gopro : bug fixed - the GoPro didn't work correctly in a live event booth. The recording countdown was missing, the result video could fail to appear or freeze for several seconds before playing, retaking a shot showed a frozen/garbled picture while the countdown ran, and force-exiting mid-recording left the camera still recording. All fixed - the GoPro now records, plays back, retakes and exits cleanly in events, and finished videos play smoothly right away.
v5.0.1.1 2026-07-13 3

Collage Studio

  • collage : when a template puts more than one copy of the photo on a single sheet (like a double photo strip), turning on "Print QR Code on Result" now places a QR code on every copy - in the same spot on each - so each strip you cut out has its own scannable code. Before, only one QR appeared on the whole sheet.

Others

  • bug fixed : photos taken with the Studio Camera could come out low resolution. This showed up most with Collage when a photo layer had "include as result" turned on - the saved single photo looked soft and its file was tiny (around 500 KB) even with Image Quality set to Maximum. The app was accidentally saving the small on-screen preview instead of the full-size photo from the camera. It now always saves the full-resolution shot. This affects every studio's capture that uses a crop guide, not just Collage. (The live event booth camera was never affected.)
  • gopro : you can now choose which WiFi adapter connects to the GoPro. Handy when your PC has two adapters - pick one for the GoPro and keep your internet on the other.
v5.0.1.0 2026-07-13 84

Motion Studio

  • motion : Motion Studio now supports Boomerang and Glam clip modes - use them to create a 360 spin video.

Event

  • event : fixed - an event you deleted and then restored (by moving its folder back into the events folder) could stay missing from the event list forever. Restored events now appear again, and the app also repairs any that were already stuck.
  • event : the event list now has a Trash. Deleting an event no longer risks losing it - it goes to the Trash, where you can restore it, delete it permanently, or empty the whole Trash. Choose "Trash" from the status dropdown at the top-left of the event list to see deleted events. An event you just deleted appears there right away, and events deleted before this update are in there too. The Trash empties itself automatically after 30 days.
  • event : the status filter at the top-left of the event list (Ready / Archived / All) is now a compact dropdown instead of separate buttons, so it fits better on narrow / portrait screens.
  • event : fixed - the Display Monitor list (in the event's Display settings) could show only one screen even when two were connected - typically when the app was opened on the external monitor. It now re-checks the connected screens every time you open an event, and again each time you open the dropdown, so all monitors show up - including one you plug in while the editor is already open.
  • event : fixed - when running an event on a second (external) monitor, pop-up windows like Share, Print, QR and Email could appear on the wrong screen (the laptop) instead of on top of the booth. All pop-ups now open on the same monitor as the booth.
  • event : the Template Picker can now show each template's name as a caption on its card. Turn on "Show caption" in the picker's settings, then set the font, size, color, background color and opacity to suit your event. Works on all three picker layouts (grid, scroll and carousel - on the carousel the caption shows on the centered card).
  • event : fixed - Preview in the event designer always opened on the screen you were working on, even when the event's Output Monitor was set to a different screen. Preview now opens fullscreen on the chosen Output Monitor - the same screen the live booth uses - so what you see in Preview matches where it will actually run.
  • event : fixed - in the Template Picker, choosing a wide "banner" custom card shape (like 4:1) left big empty gaps above and below each row. The cards now stack neatly with just your chosen spacing, centered in the box. Preset shapes were already fine and are unchanged.
  • event : fixed - a page that uses a video as its background could sometimes show a blank background instead of playing the video. The app now retries on its own when the video is slow to start, so the background shows up reliably.
  • event : buttons can now open a web link when tapped - on the Welcome, Template Picker, Category Picker and Result pages. Add a Button, set its action to "Open URL", type the address (a short form like "example.com" works too), and choose whether it opens inside the app (a built-in browser you close with one button) or in the device's web browser. The link also opens when you test the page in Preview.
  • event : you can now create Lenticular and Flipbook templates directly from the "Create from Studio" option in an event's template list. Before, choosing either of those two just showed a "coming soon" message.

Others

  • canon : fixed - after the booth sat idle for a long time, the camera could get stuck on "connecting to camera..." on the first template and stay there until you went back and started over. The app now retries the connection on its own and brings the live view back automatically. Tip: also turn off Windows USB power saving (USB selective suspend) so the camera doesn't go to sleep in the first place.
  • new : you can now delete photos and videos from the Gallery. There's a Delete button (removes the one you're viewing) and a Delete Multiple button (tap several - they turn red - then delete them all at once); you can also right-click a photo or press the Delete key. It always asks you to confirm first. Deleting an item also removes its "extra" files, like the separate collage layers. This only removes the local copies - anything already shared to guests by QR or cloud link stays online. Deleting is available to you in the main Gallery, the image picker, and an event's Gallery - but not on the guest photo screen during a live event.
  • canon : fixed - when you set separate Live View and Capture settings and shot in Program (P) mode with ISO Auto and White Balance Auto, the actual photo could come out using the Live View settings instead of your Capture settings. Studio Camera and the live booth now always apply your Capture settings at the moment of the shot, matching the test capture on the Canon settings page.
  • gopro : you can now use a GoPro as your booth camera (HERO 9 and above). Pick "GoPro" as the camera type in Settings.
  • settings : new "Interface Mode" in Settings > General - pick Simple for a cut-down menu with just Home, Event, Gallery and Settings, or Expert for the full app.
  • settings : switching between Simple and Expert takes effect straight away, with no restart.
  • simple mode : Home is now a launcher - one button for a new event, and your saved events underneath, each startable in a single press.
  • simple mode : every saved event on Home shows what it offers, like "Photo - Strip / Collage - AI Photo".
  • simple mode : "New Event" now opens a three-step wizard - pick what guests can do, check your camera and printer, name it, and the booth starts.
  • simple mode : the wizard groups your templates by experience, so you tick the ones you want under Photo, Strip / Collage, AI Photo, Video, Lenticular or Flipbook.
  • simple mode : an event made in the wizard is an ordinary event - it appears on Home afterwards and opens normally in Expert mode.
  • simple mode : when a wizard event offers more than one experience, guests are asked to pick the experience first, then see only the templates for it.
  • simple mode : with just one experience there is nothing to choose, so guests go straight to the templates.
  • simple mode : the wizard now has a "Get Templates" button - browse your installed templates or download from the cloud gallery without leaving it.
  • simple mode : the wizard now looks in the template folders you set in the Template Gallery, not only the default one.
  • simple mode : the wizard now lists every experience your licence allows - Photo, Strip / Collage, AI Photo, Video and the rest - even before you own a template for it, so you can see what the booth could offer.
  • simple mode : opening an experience with nothing in it offers the gallery straight away, already filtered to that experience, so "add a video" never shows you photo frames.
  • simple mode : templates are now shown as preview cards instead of a tick list - tap the whole card to add it, and you see what you are picking.
  • simple mode : every saved event on Home now shows its experiences as icons as well as words.
  • simple mode : bigger text and bigger buttons throughout, so the booth can be set up at arm's length.
  • simple mode : bug fixed - button labels were cut off after the text was made bigger.
  • simple mode : the wizard now shows how much you have picked next to the buttons, and Next stays greyed out until you have picked at least one template.
  • simple mode : inside an experience the button now says "Done" instead of "Next", since it takes you back to the experience list.
  • simple mode : the wizard's device step now has an "Open Settings" button, so you can set the camera or printer without abandoning the wizard.
  • simple mode : Settings itself is now simpler - Overlay, Other and Advanced are hidden, leaving General and Hardware. Switch back to Expert to see them all again.
  • simple mode : new "Create One" button - build your own photo or strip template without opening a studio. Set how many photos, drop a transparent PNG frame on top, then drag the photo boxes to fit it.
  • simple mode : the frame's own size becomes the print size, so your artwork decides the layout.
  • simple mode : "Print two side by side" lays out one half of a strip and copies it, ready to cut down the middle.
  • simple mode : a template you build is added to your gallery and ticked straight away, so you can carry on to the next step.
  • simple mode : the "Advanced options" link is gone from Home - it led into the full editor, which is the one thing Simple mode is meant to spare you.
  • simple mode : saved events on Home now have an "Edit" button - rename the event, and add or remove what guests can do, without the full editor.
  • simple mode : the Simple/Expert switch in the menu now has a border and accent colour, so it is easy to find.
  • simple mode : "Add Templates" in the editor now opens the same experience picker the wizard uses, instead of the full gallery browser.
  • simple mode : the editor can now change the event's background - six colours or an image of your own, applied to every screen guests see.
  • simple mode : templates in the editor now show their preview picture instead of a placeholder.
  • simple mode : new "Design Screens" button in the event editor - drag things around on the welcome, experience, template, camera and result screens.
  • simple mode : you can add text, a picture or a shape to any of those screens, and change its colour, font, corner rounding and see-through.
  • simple mode : drag an item to move it, drag its bottom-right corner to resize. Required items (like the camera view) can be moved but not deleted.
  • easy mode : "Simple" is now called "Easy". Nothing else changed - your saved setting carries over.
  • easy mode : Home is the dashboard again, in both modes. The one-press event launcher moved to the Event page, next to the events it starts.
  • easy mode : the background moved into Design Screens, and now has the full colour picker plus image AND video backdrops - the same ones Expert mode uses.
  • easy mode : AI Photo now has "Create One" too - pick a model, write in plain words what it should do, pick a shape, and optionally lay a transparent PNG over the result.
  • easy mode : the AI maker only offers models that can use the guest's photo, so you cannot build a template the booth would refuse.
  • easy mode : if the chosen model's provider has no key set, the maker says so while you are building it, not when guests are queueing.
  • easy mode : bug fixed - editing an event built in Expert mode could replace its categories with generic ones, and overwrite backgrounds set per screen. Events now survive being opened in either mode.
  • easy mode : Design Screens now has a Cancel button, and shows the name of the selected item instead of an internal code.
  • easy mode : the template and experience galleries can now be pages of cards, a scrolling grid or a carousel.
  • easy mode : the delete button in Design Screens now looks like a button, with a bin icon.
  • easy mode : elements in Design Screens can now have an entrance effect and an idle animation, the same ones Expert mode offers.
  • easy mode : the Gallery page now uses bigger text and buttons, like the rest of Easy mode.
  • easy mode : Design Screens now has a Preview button - it plays the screen exactly as a guest sees it, so you can check the animations. Stopping and starting it replays them.
  • easy mode : Video now has "Create One" as well - choose Boomerang or plain video, how long the recording is, and the video shape.
  • easy mode : a video template you build opens in Motion Studio like any other, so you can add more clips, music and transitions there later.
  • easy mode : the video maker now offers the same playback recipes as Expert - Classic Boomerang, Hype Ramp, Bounce Pro, Rewind Rush and Showtime - plus plain video, and tells you roughly how long guests will watch.
  • easy mode : "Customise the moves" opens the full motion editor, so you can build your own forward / reverse / speed sequence for a 360 spinner or glambot.
  • easy mode : Design Screens now has a layer list - reorder what sits in front, and hide an item without deleting it.
  • easy mode : you can now set your own cover picture on each template and on each experience tile.
  • easy mode : the AI maker can now place the picture inside the frame - drag the box and its corner, the same way the photo and strip makers work.
  • easy mode : a framed AI template still shows up under AI Photo, not Strip / Collage.
  • easy mode : the video maker now draws the chosen effect as a bar - each block is one move, as wide as its time on screen - and you can drag a join to shift time between two moves.
  • easy mode : the Layers list in Design Screens now sits in its own bordered panel.
  • easy mode : the AI maker can now test your prompt - pick a photo, press Run test, and see the real result side by side with the source before you save.
  • easy mode : templates already in an event can now be edited - press Edit on a row to re-open it in the maker that built it.
  • easy mode : drag a template row to change the order guests see on the picker.
  • easy mode : the background in Design Screens now belongs to the screen you have open, so an event built in Expert mode - including one with a different backdrop per screen - can be edited here without losing anything. "Use this background on every screen" copies it across when you want that.
  • easy mode : saved events can now be deleted from Home. They move to the deleted folder, so a mistake is still recoverable.
  • easy mode : Lenticular and Flipbook can now be created too - every experience now has a "Create One".
  • easy mode : the Lenticular maker asks how many photos, your lens sheet's LPI and the print size, and tells you how many shots the guest stands for.
  • easy mode : the Flipbook maker asks how long the recording is, the frame rate and the paper size, and tells you roughly how many sheets you will print and cut.
  • easy mode : the wizard now has "Save for later" beside Start Booth, so you can prepare tomorrow's event at a desk without opening the booth.
  • easy mode : saved events can be duplicated - the copy keeps the templates and design but none of the photos already taken.
  • simple mode : the main menu now has a one-click switch between Simple and Expert, so you no longer have to go into Settings for it.
v5.0.0.15-16 2026-07-08 1

Others

  • bug fixed : on some computers the app could close by itself during startup, before the main window even appeared, and never open. This happened on PCs with basic or missing graphics drivers. The app no longer sets up the graphics preview at startup, so it now launches normally on those machines. If a computer genuinely has no proper graphics driver, the camera preview simply shows a "graphics driver required" message instead of crashing the whole app.
v5.0.0.14 2026-07-08 13

AI Online

  • ai online : log files are much smaller now

Motion Studio

  • motion : new "Output FPS" setting (Auto / 30 / 60 ) in the studio's Output section - pick the video frame rate. Auto matches your highest-quality clip (up to 60). Higher values look smoother but take longer to render and make bigger files.
  • motion : high frame-rate footage now stays smooth when slowed down, instead of looking choppy.
  • motion : fixed - a video clip's length now matches its playback speed. A 10-second clip at 2x speed becomes a 5-second clip (before it stayed 10 seconds with a frozen ending).
  • motion : fixed - AI Online video clips now play their full generated length instead of being cut short to an estimate.
  • motion : if a clip fails while processing, the error now names exactly which clip (its name and type) failed.

Event

  • event : photos and videos captured while running an event are now saved inside that event's own folder and kept after you restart the app. Before, they went to a shared temporary folder that was cleared on every launch.
  • event : a full event Backup now correctly includes all the captured photos and videos from that event (before, the backup left them out).

Others

  • canon : big fix for camera disconnects during an event. If the camera drops out (loose cable, or Windows USB power saving), the app no longer freezes or crashes - it shows a clear "camera disconnected" message and reconnects automatically the moment you plug the camera back in. No app restart or PC restart needed anymore.
  • canon : fixed - the White Balance Kelvin value no longer resets when you reopen the camera settings.
  • canon : if your camera doesn't support Kelvin white balance, it now tells you and switches back to Auto instead of silently ignoring it.
  • studio : the "Select Studio To Launch" popup now follows your chosen language - its title and the description under each studio were stuck in English before.
  • bug fixed : on some computers the app could show a "Fatal Exception" graphics error near startup and close when you clicked OK. Fixed.
v5.0.0.13 2026-07-03 2

Event

  • event : the live booth now goes fully full screen - the Windows taskbar no longer shows while an event is running.
  • event : running an event on a second monitor, or on a screen that uses display scaling (like 125%), now fills the whole screen correctly. Before it could appear as a small window or open on the wrong monitor.
v5.0.0.12 2026-07-01 7

AI Offline

  • faceswap : fixed - opening a Face Swap template (from the Templates list or the Edit button in template settings) showed a "coming soon" message instead of opening it. Face Swap templates now open in the AI Offline studio for editing.

Event

  • bug fixed : when an event delivered results in the background, the photo frame/overlay was missing from the final image. Overlays now apply to background results just like normal (Direct) delivery.
  • event : a template's result delivery (Direct or Background) is now set inside the template's advanced settings, where you can also pick the delivery method (Email for now). It warns if Background is chosen but no method or QR Web is set up.
  • event : the Result Delivery section is tidier - it hides options that don't apply and shows a clearer hint for each choice.
  • event : you can now copy an event's ID from the General settings (a copy button next to the Event ID), and copy a template's ID from the top of the template's advanced settings.

Others

  • bug fixed : the app could crash when opening the gallery (or other resizable windows) on a portrait/rotated screen. Windows now open safely even when they don't fully fit the screen.
  • language : on first launch the app now asks which language you'd like to use. The question rotates through each available language so anyone can read it. Pick one and it applies right away; you can always change it later in Settings. It only asks once.
v5.0.0.11 2026-06-28 16

Event

  • event : the Display section now offers 3:2 and 2:3 aspect ratios - a good match for Surface tablets and many other tablet screens. The less-common 16:10 and 21:9 were removed; you can still set those (or any ratio) with the Custom option.
  • event : each aspect ratio button now shows its pixel size underneath (for example 16:9 shows 1920x1080), so it's easier to pick the one that matches your screen.
  • event : when you choose an Output Monitor, its resolution and aspect ratio now appear right under the dropdown - so you can match the event's aspect ratio to the actual booth screen at a glance.
  • event : in Report > Transactions, each row now has a view button (eye icon) that reopens that session's photos - so you can re-show the QR code, reprint, or email the photos again, even days later. Reprints done here count as gallery prints.
  • event : you can now email a past session's results straight from the Report. It asks for a name and email and saves them to the Contacts list, just like a booth send.
  • event : guests can re-send their photos by email from the booth Gallery too - handy when someone comes back later and wants them sent to a different address.
  • event : the Report's Summary (per template) and Daily tables now show an Emails count column (also added to the CSV and HTML exports).
  • event : in the Templates list you can now reorder templates even while a category filter or search is active. Drag a template (or use the up/down/top/bottom buttons) and it lands right next to the template you dropped it beside. Before, reordering was switched off whenever a filter was on.
  • bug fixed : the Processing page background media now picks a random item per session, like the other pages. Before, it always showed the first item even when you added several.

Others

  • new : you can now choose which side the main menu sits on - left or right. Set it in Settings > General > Appearance > Menu Position. It moves as soon as you close Settings, no restart needed.
  • language : added Spanish - the app can now be set to Spanish (Settings > Language).
  • language : added Chinese (Simplified) - the app can now be set to Chinese (Settings > Language).
  • appearance : fixing some theme color and replacing some themes for consistency.
  • studio : the result Share window now has an Email button that emails all the results to an address you type. It shows up wherever Share opens (studios, the event Gallery, and the Report), as long as an email method and cloud/FTP upload are set up.
  • clipboard : the "Paste from Clipboard" window was redesigned. Your recent pasted images now sit in a scrollable list on the right (no longer capped at 5), shown as square thumbnails that fit the whole image instead of cropping it.
  • clipboard : deleting a recent clipboard image now asks "Delete this file?" first, so you can't remove one by accident.
